Biographical Sketch : | A national scholarship holder and a Ph.d from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Prof. Rajat Gupta, 1959 born, is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of NIT Silchar since 1996. He was selected as a Director of NIT Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir in 2011. He successfully completed his tenure of 5 years at NIT Srinagar in October 2016. Thereafter, he joined back at NIT Silchar in October, 2016 and he was appointed by the MHRD, Government of India as the officiating Director of NIT Silchar. In July, 2017, he joined as the Director of NIT Mizoram which is one of the 10 new NITs established in 2010. He has published more than 165 research papers in various National/International Journals/ Conferences and also written 05 Chapters in books. He has produced many Ph.D and M.Tech scholars. His research areas include among others, Fluid Mechanics, CFD, Non-Conventional Energy, Thermo-fluids, etc. He chaired various National/ International Conferences and delivered keynote addresses too. He is associated with various committees of MHRD, Government of India, NBA, AICTE, NIF- Ahmadabad, IEI, ASME, etc. Presently, he is the Chairman of Mizoram State Centre- The Institution of Engineers India. He received many awards like Education Leadership Awards, Rajiv Gandhi Education Excellence Awards etc. |

Biographical Sketch : | Dr. K.M. Pandey obtained his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from BHUIT, Varanasi in 1980. Dr. Pandey also did M.Tech in Heat Power from the same Institute in 1987. Prior to Joining REC Silchar Dr. Pandey served in BIT Mesra Ranchi as Associate Lecturer for a period of 3 Years and 6 Months. Dr. Pandey did his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 1994 from IIT Kanpur. He has published and presented more than 425 papers in International & National Journals and Conferences. Dr. Pandey has also served in Colombo Plan Staff College Manila, Philippines in the year 2002 as Faculty Consultant seconded by Govt. of India. Currently he is working as Professor of the Mechanical. Engineering Department, National Institute of Technology, Silchar, Assam, India. He also served the department in the capacity of head from July 07 to 13 July 2010. He has also worked as faculty consultant in Colombo Plan Staff College, Manila, Philippines as seconded faculty from Government of India in the year 2002. His research interest areas are the following; Combustion, High Speed Flows, Technical Education, Fuzzy Logic and Neural Networks , Heat Transfer, Internal Combustion Engines, Human Resource Management, Gas Dynamics and Numerical Simulations in CFD area from Commercial Softwares. Biographical Sketch : | Professor Misra received his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Jorhat Engineering College under Dibrugarh University in 1991, M.Tech. in Energy Studies from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 1996, and Ph. D. in Thermal Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2004. He has joined as faculty in Mechanical Engineering in the National Institute of Technology Silchar in 1992. He has served NIT Silchar as Lecturer from 1992 to 2003, as Assistant /Associate Professor from 2004 to 2009, as Professor from 2010 to 2018 and as Professor (HAG) from 2018 till date. Biographical Sketch : | Dr. Agnimitra Biswas did his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College Silchar in 2001, M.Tech in Thermal Engineering from NIT Silchar in 2007, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Silchar in 2010. His research area was Vertical Axis Wind Turbines using experimental and computational methods. He has more than 13 years of teaching and research experiences. Presently he is working as an Assistant Professor in ME Department, NIT Silchar since Nov 2012. His current research areas include hybrid renewable energy systems, vertical axis wind turbines, micro hydro-turbines, and solar energy systems. He has published more than 60 research papers till date in various referred international journals and conferences. He is an associate member of Institution of Engineers (India). He is a regular reviewer of various Energy related SCI indexed journals. He is also the principal investigator of Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) sponsored solar RTC project of this institution, and an in-charge of MNRE recognized Regional Test Center for solar thermal devices at ME Department, NIT Silchar. This center has bagged the prestigious NABL accreditation for testing laboratory in 2017. |

Biographical Sketch : | He received his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Tripura Engineering College (now known as NIT Agartala) under Tripura University, M.M.E. in Machine Design specialization from Jadavpur University. He has done his PhD from Jadavpur University. He joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in National Institute of Technology Silchar in January 2013. He also worked as a faculty in Tripura Engineering College and Asansol Engineering College. He published more than 45 no. of SCI journal papers in different repute journals and was the author of 03 no. of textbooks. He also published no. of conference papers and book chapters. Five number of research scholars successfully completed their research work under his supervision and 05 no. of research scholars working under supervision now. His work is also funded by the DST, CPRI, KVIC. |

More recently, my work has been focused on the analysis of Mesoscale heat transfer, particularly in Lab on Chip applications and Mesoscale modeling of interface phenomenon.I am a strong supporter of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software). |

Biographical Sketch : | Dr. Pitambar Randive is currently serving as Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department . He has received his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Nagpur University in 1997. Further, He obtained his Masters in mechanical engineering with specialization in heat power engineering from VNIT (Earlier known as V.R.C.E.) Nagpur in 2001. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2014. |

Prior to joining at NIT Silchar, he worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Production Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology (Haldia, West Bengal) from 12th January 2009 to 31st August 2010 and serve as an Assistant Professor in the same department from 1st September 2010 to 16th November 2015. He also worked as a Research Scientist in the Ministry of Steel & TATA Steel sponsored project entitled ‘Fatigue Behaviour Analysis of Spot Welded, Laser Welded and Adhesive Bonded High Strength Steel Sheet Joint’ under the guidance of Prof. Tapan Kumar Pal, Department of Metallurgical & Material Engineering of Jadavpur University and Dr. M. Biographical Sketch : | Dr. Sukumar Pati is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar. Prior to joining at NIT Silchar, he worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow for almost one year at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur after completion of his PhD from Mechanical Engineering Department of the same Institute. He received his BE degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College (University of North Bengal) and the degree of ME in Fluid Mechanics from Bengal Engineering College (Presently Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur). He was awarded a Medal for attaining the second rank in BE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Bengal. He joined Haldia Institute of Technology, Haldia in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2001 and served till 2007 at different positions. Dr. Pati is the co-author of the textbooks like Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, both published by McGraw-Hill Education (India). He has also authored A Textbook on Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic Machines, published by McGraw-Hill Education (India). He has served as Teaching Assistant to teach Fluid Mechanics in a program titled 'Train Ten Thousand Teachers’ under National Mission on Education Through ICT (MHRD, Govt. of India) during May 20-30, 2014. He has participated as Teaching Assistant to develop a significant number of video courses through the NPTEL programme. These courses include: 'Fluid Mechanics', ' ‘Introduction to Fluid Mechanics and Fluids Engineering’, ', 'Fluid Machines and Compressible flows', ‘Computational Fluid Dynamics’. After completing the master degree, he joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at GHITM, Puri, India and served for about 2.2 years. He has acquired his Ph.D. from NIT Rourkela in the year of 2017 in the research area concerning the development of TiC based wear resistant composite coating on AISI 304 steel. Dr. Sahoo worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical engineering at KIIT deemed to be University for one year, and he has joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering NIT Silchar in July 2018. |

In the year 2019, he was also awarded with the reputed CV Raman fellowship from MHRD, Govt. of India at IISc, Bangalore, in 2019. Very recently, Dr. Vinyas also made into the list of top 2% scientists by Stanford University, in the Materials domain. His research areas include finite element analysis, smart structure analysis, light weight composites, vibration control, additive manufacturing. He has published more than 100 reputed international journals with high impact factor. Also, he is serving as the Editorial board member for Biomaterials and Biomechanics in Bioengineering- an International Journal, Technopress.
